Thermal Efficiency of Enviroc
Because of its unique physical structure, AAC provides greater thermal inertia than conventional masonry despite its relatively low mass. In many environments an 8-inch thick wall provides more than the required thermal protection without additional insulation.
Lets put this into perspective....AAC begins as a slurry of ingredients mixed and poured into a large rectagonal pan, or mold. An Aluminum powder is added (part of the ingredients) that acts as a rising agent, (like yeast in bread) as the mixture rises, millions of air bubbles are formed. As the mixture hardens, the bubbles harden. Cut away all the crust from a loaf of unsliced bread, this is a rough resemblance to what AAC will look like after leaving the Autoclave, (a pressurized steam room). The bubbles are what give AAC such unique qualities. Fire Resistance being the most beneficial.
